Self-learning: The only certain skill in a future of uncertainty

“It is education that’s meant to take us into the future, but nobody has a clue what the world will look like even a few years from now.” (Creativity expert, Sir Ken Robinson)
As the Information Age continues to charge ahead, transformation is occurring at exponential rates. Nowadays, Information doubles itself every 1.5 years and no one truly understands which professions will disappear due to automation, artificial intelligence and computerization processes.
According to an OECD article (March 2018), the tasks that artificial intelligence and robots cannot do are shrinking rapidly. 14% of all jobs hold a high risk of automation, and a further 32% of jobs may experience significant changes to the way they are carried out.

Employees of the future will need to continuously adapt to changing conditions, and possess an ability to learn new things quickly and efficiently. In order to succeed in this unpredictable future world of work, one critical skill we must develop and hone in our children is the ability to self-learn.

Unfortunately, the standard education found in most schools today underestimates the importance of self-learning, as they devote time and resources to teaching more content over  “how to learn” techniques.

If we want to equip our children for success in a future of rapid advancement, it is our responsibility to turn them into skilled self-learners. AristoCraft’s kits will help you achieve this.
